No sugar in my coffee!

You KNOW foods with added sugar are derailing your weight loss. Cravings, feelings of deprivation, and an inability to lose weight are all signs you could use a week (at least!) without junk food.

I designed this challenge to guide and support you in taking an important step towards reaching your weight loss goal.

The No Added Sugar Challenge Is About:

  1. Giving up foods with added sugar (including artificial sweeteners!) for 7 days— and ideally much longer than 7 days!
  2. Learning skills for quick success such as clearing out your pantry and reading food labels.
  3. Learning basic principles of sound nutrition.
  4. Keeping the focus on ABUNDANCE: Eat mostly real whole food that fills you up so you have energy to engage meaningfully in life.
  5. Being part of an online Facebook group where you can connect with me and others for support!
  6. Giving yourself the gift of 7 days of healthy eating.
  7. Learning alternative, healthier ways to treat yourself and indulge.

The No Added Sugar Challenge Is NOT About:

  1. “Detoxing”
  2. Becoming a super skinny model
  3. Unrealistic expectations
  4. Deprivation

Eating “healthier” can feel overwhelming— all the different diets and rules— can make it hard to figure out where to even start!

The most important thing you can do for your weight and your overall health is give up processed junk foods with added sugar!

Healthy Birthday Cake

No added sugar (aside from whole fruit), no dairy, no oil, gluten/grain free.

Yesterday was my birthday! I enjoyed a *healthy* birthday cake along with no sugar added coconut milk ice cream

I am so grateful I got to celebrate my birthday with people I love without compromising my commitment to healthy eating. I get to have all the beautiful memories of a wonderful birthday.

I don’t have to deal with the negative physical effects of, or guilt about, eating sugary/refined flour cake/dessert. I don’t have to feel the emotional pain of deprivation.

This HEALTHY cake is absolutely delicious. Giving up added sugar and refined foods opens up a world of healthier options for you.

Recipe below. I linked some of the products I used. It makes 12 servings.

Here is the recipe:

Ingeredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line your chosen pan either with parchment paper or non stick spray. I sprayed a heart-shaped pan with organic olive oil.
  2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, add bananas, vanilla, and almond butter. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, to the mixer. With mixer on medium-low speed, add coconut flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  5. Pour batter into pan and smooth it. Bake it ~35 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before serving.
  7. If you like, serve it with mixed berries!
